NPR Launches Clever Mobile Site

National Public Radio has just launched a novel new mobile site. It's at m.npr.org, accessible only through mobile devices. The good folks over at read/write web have a nice brief.

Besides being an NPR fan of the highest order, I'm really impressed by the novel way they get their audio programming down to your mobile phone. I spend a lot of time at work thinking about ways to send media files down to phones-- this is one of the most perplexing things about my job-- but NPR has a brilliant solution: you click and link and call the news. As in, you make the most of the fact that you're using a phone and dial in to the news. Clever.

Try it-- (201) 204-0269 will get you the hourly news :-)
