I'm not entirely sure what this site is all about, but I might guess it's a new... social network built around flirting. I know, I know, there are too many social networks.
Mostly, what is interesting about "I'm In Like With You" is the design. It's a living, breathing, forever changing, goofy, silly web site. Somehow they make almost everyone's photos look sexy (which is technically impossible to do). It's Ajax done right, with information forever flowing in and out of all available surfaces. And the site's tone is silly, asking questions of its customers like "Can you cook?"
Is it an online dating site? A place to polish up your witty come-ons? A place to "bid" in the attention of someone? I don't really know, but maybe it's all of these. It's kind of charmingly opaque in that respect.
On a related topic, I will write a really long post sometime soon about why I think online dating is a dangerous drag on American optimism ;-)
In the meantime, props to the good designers and engineers at I'm in Like With You. You've done good. For now, it's by invitation only. Holler if you want an invite.
that crap is wack. if you go to their site you can't even check it out via some demo. "invite only?" please. hey - how about i go meet someone outside of my house who isn't virtual?
