Smitty and I have had the privilege of spending the last few months at Yahoo! working to jump-start the company's product line in emerging international markets. We've been particularly keen to find and build social media products that appeal to young internet citizens.
Koprol and their talented team in Jakarta Indonesia fit the bill. Here's what they say they want to do:

It is going to be fun to watch them make a go of this at even larger scale. The founders and the team (and the exploding Asian market) are have a great chance to go really big. Congratulations to the whole Koprol team!
(One can only hope that) Today's purchase purchase of Koprol is the first big step in a wave of new social innovation from Yahoo.
