If you ever take San Francisco Muni's 38 Geary bus line you know what it's like to take an overstuffed transit line (even in the middle of the night, sort of like the number 7 train to Queens in New York).
Oh, if only there were light rail out to the beach!
The folks over at the Market Street Railway trace the demise of streetcar service on Geary out to Ocean beach, which ceased operations in 1956.
