Burning Man: On Not Being There

I have 2 great friends that are at burning man this year. Dan "snerko.com" Rollman has been going for years, and Michael "Zorba the Assassin" Masouras is going for the first time. Both are among the most fun, easy-going guys I know. I'm sure they're having a blast.

And yet I have no desire to go myself. And I have no doubts about this position, either. Interesting.

Here now, via Valleywag and via some guy named Jonathan Grubb is an appropriately dismissive list of the populations that are welcome at the art festival in the desert:

1. Hippies Absolutely.
2. Yuppies Tragically.
3. Rednecks Surprisingly.
4. Software engineers See "Yuppies."
5. Retirees They already have RVs, after all.
6. Frat boys See "Yuppies."
7. Fetishists See "Software engineers."
8. Burners See "Frat boys."


Yeah, that sounds about right.
