Morley Safer is the last of the original, early 60 Minutes crew assembled by Don Hewitt. Hewitt, Ed Bradley and Harry Reasoner are gone, and Mike Wallace has moved off to a quiet retirement. But Morely Safer is still there telling quirky stories.
This little yarn is relevant to San Francisco history-buffs, but also true to form as an example of Safer taking something simple and bringing it to life, in this case a famous film strip of a busy Market street just past the turn of the last century.
