Up until now, all I have learned about the city state of Singapore is what I read in this 2007 Calvin Trillin piece about street food. I'm very excited about the food.
Please do try: The East Coast Seafood Center - get a taxi out there and have some chili crab (usually big Sri Lankan ones). You must have that. Then in no particular order, try: ABC (shaved ice) any number of the kuew teow (broad noodle) soups, the fish head curry in Little India and if mangosteens or durians are in season, try those too. Have fun!
