The Morning Walk

After I dropped my dog off at the vet in Berkeley this morning, I had a brisk walk to the Rockridge BART station. It was about 9am, and the air was clear and crisp.

As I headed down college avenue and crossed Alcatraz and then Claremont Avenue, it occurred to me how clarifying a walk at this time of day can be.

It helps me think, and process information. The mechanical motion of walking frees my mind to think about things without any sort of nervous energy. I can think about problems clearly, and really take stock of what's important in life and what isn't.

More on this later.
