I'm reading Halberstam's famous rage against the Kennedy-Johnson Vietnam policy for a few reasons:
1) I can't seem to get into fiction, and I'm always into political history.
2) There are obvious lessons in here that weren't heeded when our nation invaded Iraq. And there are obviously lessons in here about how our country might extract itself from Iraq.
3) I want to learn more about the Kennedy folks, most especially because I want to see the parallels and risks that might befall an ambitions, smart Obama administration.
