Another Crossroads For Iraq

It's Petraeus week in Washington, where the commander of US Operations in Iraq will likely recommend that we wait and see what happens in a few more months.

I can't help but think that by deferring to the Military commanders, President bush has ordered up a military solution for a problem that can't be solved by one.

This seems like more of the same, which isn't what Americans want, and isn't what is good for the nation and world.

Meanwhile, in recognition of a job poorly done by the President and Congress....

Americans trust military commanders far more than the Bush administration or Congress to bring the war in Iraq to a successful end, and while most favor a withdrawal of American troops beginning next year, they suggested they were open to doing so at a measured pace, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News Poll.
