It is the highest ranking for Cal since the 1952 season when the Bears held the No. 3 ranking for consecutive weeks midway through the season.
The last time Cal was ranked higher than No. 3 was the Oct. 16th ranking in 1951 when the Golden Bears climbed to No. 1 following a victory over Washington State.
