What a great month of July so far, eh? To accompany my happy, if ocassionally pensive mood, this is what I'm listing to.
Feist
* The Reminder. This new album has legs.
Uncle Tupelo
* Anodyne. Such a great album. Deeper than anything that Wilco has ever done.
* 89/93. Other great stuff not on Anodyne.
Beck
* The Information. Resisted at first because of scientology. But like all Beck, sterile and catchy.
Arcade Fire
* Neon Bible/ Funeral: Funny concert, great band.
John Coltrane
* Crescent. Overlooked, great Impulse! release.
Al Green
* Just the track "For the good times."
Beastie Boys
* Ill Communication. Just because.
What else should I try to break into this list for the rest of the month? Bonus points if you're an ex-KZSC or KDVS DJ.

Ted Leo & the Pharmacists – Hearts of Oak – the new Living with the Living album is decent, but still not as solid as this one. They’re coming to the Great American in August.
ReplyDeleteNuzzle – San Lorenzo Blues – Ahhh…..reminds me of the summer of ‘96
The Evens – The Evens - Ian Mackaye’s softer side…good stuff.
Patton Oswalt – I saw this comedian a couple of years ago in The City and lost 5 lbs from laughing.
Unwound –Unwound – I just recently burned this LP to MP3, it still rocks.
Sunset Rubdown – Shut Up, I am Dreaming – The lesser known side of Wolf Parade, but just as good.
The Monorchid – Let Them Eat – Another album from the early 2000s that I burned to MP3. It’s on all the time now, especially at the gym.
