It has been a busy couple of weeks for those of us who had started to avert our eyes from the Bush Administration, believing that the only way to care about American policy is to look to January 2009 with a great deal of hope and impatience.
1. Bush pardoned Scooter Libby. Frank Rich calls this a Profile in Cowardice(subscription required), while Keith Olberman simply calls for the top and bottom of the 2004 ticket to resign. I'd call it an act that violates of the rule of law.
2. The Washington Post rounds up 7 years of secrecy, influence and ... let's just call it abuse by Dick Cheney. Read a little of it , it's chilling: Angler: The Cheney Vice Presidency.
3. The Roberts Court ended their term by making big changes to Affirmative-Action, Free Speech, and Campaign-Finance Reform. The makeup of this new court favors the powerful over the weak, and by rolling back civil liberties gains of the last 40 years the Bush Administration has given the most conservative Americans the court that they have long been promised.
And we still have 18 more months.

Since we're asking for the whole administration to resign, I nominate Jon Voight as the Secretary of Defense. He did a great job in Transformers!
