New Nightly News Executive Producer

NBC Names New Chief for News Program.

Less than a week after “NBC Nightly News With Brian Williams” lost the monthly ratings race to ABC for the first time, NBC announced yesterday that it was replacing Mr. Williams’s executive producer with Alexandra Wallace, a vice president of the news division who has had broad oversight for the program since January of last year.


Ms. Wallace, 41, who came to NBC in 2005 after a decade as a producer at CBS News, replaces John Reiss, who had been Mr. Williams’s executive producer for almost two years. NBC executives have said that the change was in the works for some time and was not made in response to the most recent ratings figures.
