Biden, Worthy of Another Look

I agree with David Brooks on this one. Joseph Biden talks a lot, and he chose some poor words to describe the appeal of Barack Obama. He was not trying to indict Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton, he was appearently trying to articulate why Obama is so energizing to the democratic base (while not necessarily energizing the black base).

Overreacting to a misspoken comment like this brings to mind all the faux outrage a few months back over a botched joke by a far less compelling politician. Do we really believe that these comments deserve outrage?

I'm looking for a candidate that can propose bold, practical ideas about Iraq and Climate Change. I'm not looking for red meat, I'm looking for thoughtful policies.

Look at what Biden says about these. I am willing to overlook a few poorly chosen words.

Well put. It is so important that people take
"another look" at others. This is imperative in politics--but just as critical, I would say, in all of our relationships with others.
