I've heard for some years that Saturday Night Live was a slumping franchise. It had gotten pretty stale and bloated, I'd heard.
And so I've made the effort to try and watch it a few times over the last few months and these people are right. It's truly terrible, too television-obsessed, too derivative, too smug. All this makes Aaron Sorkin's indictment of crap television on "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" all the more biting.
